Backstory

Im a half blooded girl who was sorted into Slytherin. My dad has a long and proud family history descending from the Sayre family in America. My mom is a muggle who he fell in love with when visiting friends in London. I have always been ambitious and image conscious, just like my paternal grandmother. The sorting hat almost put me in Gryffindor, because of my recklessness and nobility, but I asked for Slytherin so I could stay in the same house as my ancestors. I was definitely a hat stall and if I had not asked for Slytherin I would have ended up in Gryffindor. I love care of magical creatures, being outside is enjoyable to me. I am also good at history of magic and defense against the dark arts. This is because Im energetic and creative. I do not really like potions or charms, I am not good at memorizing words and formulas. I do tend to be good herbology because my mom taught me to garden. But I do not like it, I am not patient enough for it. I am embarrassed about being a half blood and lie to many of my friends and classmates about it. I feel some of my Slytherin classmates would look down upon me if they knew the truth. I love my mom, but I do feel ashamed of our family history. The truth is Im too young to be affected by Voldemort. My dad was an Ilvermorny graduate and a Quiditch coach. My dad is a hufflepuff and moved my mom to a country side house during the height of Voldemort's rise to keep my mom safe. My dad is shy and was good at keeping a low profile. Even though I was born after Voldemort's defeat he always made sure I was careful who to trust and who to talk to. My greatest strength is my passion and energy which can be used to strengthen my spells. My greatest weakness is my insecurity. I can be tempted to do bad things to preserve my reputation and I freeze under pressure. After school I aspire to work in the ministry of magic, particularly in the department of ministries. Im only a first year at the time of writing, so graduating is a long way off! My favorite aspect of magic is reflections of the soul like Patronus figures or anamagi. Magic can not hide your true from and I love seeing people revealed for who they are inside. I honestly do want to further my own ends. I figure, everyone is out for themselves even if they do not admit it. I really truly want to be someone important and famous, someone to be admired like my ancestor Isolt Sayer was admired. My mother did purchase me a color changing cat and a northern spotted owl. The cat is named Princess Puff, she is a big baby. Puff loves to cuddle with me, she is afraid of most strangers but very affectionate when she warms up to you. My owl is a boy named Astro. Astro is proud and strong. He is not the most affectionate bird but he sends mail quickly and efficiently each time. Astro always comes when he is called and is quite loyal to me. Astro will even attack others if he thinks they post a threat to me. I almost did enroll in Ilvermorny but the United States shunned my dad for marrying a muggle so I had to stay in America. Some of my dad's siblings and parents do resent him for marrying a muggle, and they make passive aggressive comments. My mom's family is loud and messy, the truth is sometimes I feel that my dad's family were right about the marriage. As my aunt once said after too much wine "it was not a good match".
