Backstory

As a Muggle-born teenager I never thought I would ever witness the words "you're a witch" scrawled on a ragged piece of parchment. Obviously I was skeptical. I have long endured the annual pranks that coincide with my April 1st birthday. This mysterious letter was indifferent in my mind and I automatically categorized the odd letter as an intricate plot hatched by my parents to one again bamboozle me. All my life I have been practical and studious, investing my time in all areas of life in order to examine and participate in everything imaginable. From field hockey games to debate meets to piano concerts, my time is always divided intricately; always with purpose of acquiring knowledge from all of the arts. A fortnight later, I casually brought up my parents failed "prank" while we were devouring our small bowls of coconut rice and crispy, grilled vegetables. I obviously knew my parents were going to deny writing the letter, like they denied all their pranks, however their genuinely startled looks caught me off guard. While I do not want to bore you dear reader with the details of the rest of this dinner discussion but I can determine that you already know how this journey progressed as I am now writing to you from the magical atmosphere of Hogwarts. To be truly transparent, I did not care what house I was sorted to. As a Muggle I still had a vague perception of what Hogwarts was like, as well as the rewarding world overall. When the ancient brown sorting hat shouted "Ravenclaw!" to the crowd of anxious students I smiled but not because of the house (which my past, uneducated self thought was a house based on an actual raven) but I smiled because I was finally apart of something and I gained the opportunity to soak in even more knowledge than I humanly thought was possible. I soon came to realize why the Sorting Hat declared me a Ravenclaw that fateful day. I am perceived by both the Sorting Hat and subconscious mind to be intelligent, creative, and I quite literally have a fondness for the color blue. I have come to learn that I am Ravenclaw and, Ravenclaw is me. I am so excited to peruse my future through Hogwarts and hopefully it will provide insight on what fields interest me in the future.
