As a fifth-year transfer student from Ilvermorney School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, coming to Hogwarts is a whole new experience. At Ilvermorney, I was sorted into Wampus (sometimes considered to represent the body of a witch or wizard). In my fifth year at Ilvermorney, my family moved from the state of Illinois to Hawkshead, England because of my father's work as an Officer for the Department of International Magical Cooperation.
I was mildly surprised to be sorted into Ravenclaw House upon my arrival to Hogwarts; I was expecting Hufflepuff or Slytherin due to what I had researched. But, even after reading about Hogwarts, I still don't understand exactly how the Sorting Hat decides on Students houses. I really thought I was going to be a Hufflepuff.
Nevertheless, I think I'll do well in Ravenclaw. (Though I am starkly disappointed that the Ravenclaw common room is so far away from the kitchens!).
Not only am I hoping to pick up an accent after a few months here, but I'm also hoping I start to understand the slang that the students use.
I am a half-blood wizard (Father's a wizard, mom's a No-Maj), my best class is History of Magic, and I am trying out for beater on the Quidditch team this year.
Some of my hobby's include: reading, chess, collecting wands, creating charms and jinxing my drawings to come alive.
Starting my sixth year at Hogwarts has been such an adventure so far, and even though I haven't been able to get inside the common room sometimes because of the darned riddles, have gotten lost on my way to class countless times, been sent to the hospital wing because I fell off my broom during Quidditch practice, accidentally stepped on a house-elf in the middle of the night, and dropped my wand into the Great Lake, this year is really looking up.
