Backstory

Getting sorted into a house was an unusual experience for me. Growing up, I always heard stories from my father about his time at Hogwarts as a Gryffindor. I always had a feeling I would also be a Gryffindor, as my father and I were strikingly similar; however, as I grew up, I noticed that I had a complex personality. I began to feel connections to each house. Like a Hufflepuff, I was always dedicated to my passions and excessively loyal to my companions. However, though I was never leadership quality, I prided myself in my achievements, similarly to a Slytherin. Furthermore, as I endured many hardships and obstacles growing up, I had an instinctive urge for self-preservation. On the other hand, much like my father, I have always been very chivalrous, and sometimes so courageous to the point of utter recklessness. And lastly, even though sometimes I doubt it, most of my peers know me for my wisdom(book-wise wisdom that is). This complexity always made it difficult for me to stick with just a friend group growing up, because I was able to connect with all kinds of people. I feared this would be a challenge for me at Hogwarts, and I dreaded putting on the Sorting Hat. As I expected, when it was placed atop my head, the Sorting Hat seemed to be in a state of utter confusion. “A complex soul I see… Where to put you?” He went on, explaining each house and my connection to it, until ultimately, he said: “While you may be concerned with your complexity Miss Honeydew, you should take pride in it. I say… Gryffindor!” This was the beginning of my new adventure.
